Spring Open Call 2026

Working through a cross-contamination model, a term more commonly associated with the kitchen than with established art discourse, artistic practices, narratives, and forms of knowledge are deliberately brought into proximity here at SANKI. This approach allows meaning to emerge through encounter rather than categorisation and extends beyond exhibitions through workshops, readings, gatherings, and other collective inquiry formats.

Within this framework, audiences are positioned not as consumers but as witnesses and supporters of artistic development, engaging with artistic processes as they unfold

For our first Open Call, we are looking for early career (within the first 7 years of your artistic practice) artists who push the boundaries of established contemporary conversation, or open up discourse on new structures or hidden stories through unique research and inquiry.

Any medium is accepted, and we are open to proposals of workshops/events to run alongside the exhibition. If selected, your work will be displayed as part of a group exhibition at SANKI in May. Any large painting work must have at least ONE side that is LESS than 195cm.

The form will close at 5pm on Sunday 22nd of March
