Freya Glass: Held down by the wind
November 25th - December 14th
Freya Glass is an emerging artist based in Edinburgh. A graduate from Painting BA at Edinburgh College of Art in 2025, Freya is a recipient of the Andrew Grant Travel and Equipment Bursary, a nominee for New Blood Emerging Art Prize and selected for RSA New Contemporaries 2026. Her practice combines painting and sculpture in an exploration of the perceptual experience of spatiality through an engagement with familiar, found and collected materials.
Through playful and intuitive processes, she interrogates the human response to sites of destruction as they fluctuate. Her practice mirrors this through a repetitive reshaping of her materials. Each piece emerges from an ongoing dialogue between herself, the materials, and the environment, responsive to scale, tension, and the contradictions of practicality. Rooted in challenging a formulaic method, her practice reinterprets everyday materials with empathy and spontaneity, inviting viewers into spaces that encourage a navigation of instability.

This mixed-media sculptural and painting installation from the award-winning Edinburgh artist Freys Glass will include artist-led workshops and incredible performances throughout the run of November 25th to December 14th.

Workshops are available on November 30th and December 7th
